Alan lives in Ngukurr, N.T. with his wife and two children. Born in 1965  his art tells stories of life around the Roper River area of S.E. Arnhem Land. Alan believes his bright colours demand attention and allows viewers to expand their imaginations. He has taken a new contempary approach to his art, it is a new and unique style, "A new way of telling old stories".
